Falls Lake - November 20th - 22nd
Taking advantage of places near home, we spent the weekend at Falls Lake State Park playing with rope and enjoying the lake. We were lucky that the rain held off and it wasn't too cold. We had a few firsts on this trip: this was our largest group to go camping so far - 16 boys + 4 adults! and the Rubber Duckies actually baked and frosted a 2 layer chocolate cake. Working with ropes the guys learned how to crawl across a ravine (ok, a large ditch) on a rope. |

Stone Mountain - September 11th - 13th
Our first trip after the summer was to Stone Mountain State Park, an imposing 600ft granite dome. We hiked up the mountain and ate lunch while enjoying the views. After a steep descent we came to the orginal owner's homestead then hiked on to the waterfalls. After climbing several hundred stairs, which finished our 5 miler, everyone relaxed back at camp before cooking dinner. The evening's activities included a rousing snipe hunt. |

After lunch we proceed to the Yorktown Victory Center to learn about the final days of the American Revolution. Some of the lads even were conscripted for the cannon firing demonstration.
